SMART Recovery ® Program

What is SMART Recovery ®? SMART Recovery ® is a non-profit organization that provides and nurtures self-empowerment over addiction and addictive behaviors. This self-help support group appeals to individuals who want to take charge of their lives and recovery by remaining abstinent from drugs and alcohol. The Smart Recovery program offers some face-to-face meetings and virtual meetings for those looking for an alternative to AA or NA meetings. Smart Recovery is a secular recovery program that is research and evidence-based and uses tools to help the person change negative and self-defeating thoughts in order to help with recovery. The efforts of the SMART Recovery ® system are based on scientific knowledge and evolve as scientific knowledge evolves.
