Under certain circumstances, sometimes, Medicaid will pay 100% for addiction treatment. Medicaid will cover most of if not all of the primary aspects of addiction treatment services. Some states do require a co-payment for substance abuse. Medicaid provides free and low-cost treatment options for people who are struggling with addictions to medications, drugs, or alcohol. Some states do require a copay for some drug and alcohol treatment programs that are inpatient in style. If a copayment is required, it will be a minimal amount or can sometimes be waived depending on the facility you choose.
