If you are not sure if you have a drinking problem, take our free Alcohol Evaluation HERETreatment programs for alcohol overuse disorder (AOD) offered may be conducted in a residential inpatient, or outpatient clinic setting, depending on your personal needs. When you are comparing various rehab centers for physical dependency to alcohol, it is important to take into consideration what each program has to offer you. Make sure that the program you choose will work not only with your personal belief system but also with the actual therapy models themselves to coincide with your individual needs. It is sometimes beneficial for the client to go to treatment further away from home. Getting away from temptations and friends who may still be using is often better for many people. Alcohol Withdrawal and Detox Centers
When alcohol abuse develops into a physical need and physical dependency there will be a need for detox to make sure that the patient is stable before entering into a comprehensive treatment program for acute alcohol dependency. If you have stopped drinking and are experiencing early signs of withdrawal, such as tremors, shaky hands, trouble sleeping, anxiety, fluctuating heart rate, or seizures, seek medical attention immediately. Trying to stop drinking on your own without a medically supervised detox can be very dangerous and even life-threatening. Seek help immediately if you are experiencing these symptoms. The sad truth about drinking alcohol is that once you have developed a physical dependency on alcohol, the need for an alcohol detox becomes medically mandatory. With medically supervised detox, the alcohol withdrawal process is carefully monitored and medications are administered to make the process safe and as painless as possible. The alcohol detox process usually lasts for 3-7 days depending on the severity of the alcohol dependency, while taking into account other conditions that are intertwined with the alcohol abuse issues.
*If you are experiencing tremors “the shakes”, delirium, or are having a hard time stopping alcohol on your own, do not attempt to stop drinking cold turkey. Doing this can have serious life-threatening consequences.

Outpatient Alcohol Treatment Programs in Hawaii
Outpatient rehab centers offer treatment for alcohol abusers who cannot take time away from their busy schedules for treatment. Often, outpatient rehab for alcoholism is used as the first defense against a developing addiction. Outpatient treatment options can vary from going to 12-step meetings to partial hospitalization treatment programs. The alcohol patterns of use will be the determining factor as to what level of care of outpatient treatment will work best for your alcohol treatment plan. Most people who enter into outpatient treatment are at a level where they have not yet found themselves physically dependent but have developed a pattern that they feel needs to be changed before it gets out of control. They have more of an emotional addiction than a physical addiction to the alcohol they are abusing. Outpatient treatment programs for alcohol abuse in Hawaii can vary in the delivery of their programs.Inpatient Alcohol Treatment
Inpatient treatment for alcohol abuse and dependency is the most recommended and effective form of treatment for combating alcohol dependency. Program lengths can vary from 2 weeks to 1 year depending on the program chosen. Inpatient treatment centers for alcohol abuse should be followed up by an aftercare program to ensure that the aftercare plan is followed, which allows for an easy transition back home. Private Treatment Centers for Alcohol Abuse
Private rehabs have private rooms, that allow you to keep your cell phone, personal trainers on staff, individual meal plans (ie: vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian), and menus comparable to a 5-star hotel, saunas, and some even allow pets. These luxury-type programs cater to your every need while enrolled in their center. These programs offer a lot more amenities than the state-level treatment centers that cannot afford to implement due to budget constraints in the social programs. Private treatment programs for alcohol dependency will vary in length from 28 days to 3 months depending on the policy of the program. There are good programs, that cost little to nothing, in Hawaii and there are higher-cost treatment centers for alcohol abuse that can cost upwards of $30,000 a month. A private treatment center will deliver a better program, due to being able to afford the staff and amenities needed for a well-rounded individual treatment program. Ultra private rehabs or luxury alcohol addiction programs, will have almost the same program options and individual treatment plans as the less expensive private alcohol rehab. The difference is that a luxury or Malibu treatment program will offer a lot more of the comforts of home.Dual Diagnosis Treatment for Alcohol and Mental Health Issues
Often people who have underlying mental issues turn to alcohol to manage their symptoms. If they mix their medications with alcohol, this cocktail can have potentially dangerous and life-threatening consequences. Finding an effective program for those needing a dual diagnosis treatment program in Hawaii can make the difference between success and failure. The most effective programs that specialize in dual diagnosis clients have many different levels of care, from intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and short-term programs (21-30 days), to intensive inpatient long-term (3-9 months or longer). Your physical dependency can determine the length of stay or level of care needed to facilitate lifelong sobriety.Alcohol Treatment Centers That Take Insurance in Hawaii

Finding alcohol treatment programs that will work with your insurance provider can be a difficult task to undertake without the specific knowledge needed to ensure that the insurance provider allows for funds to be allocated toward the treatment. Secular rehab refers to an organization that is indifferent to the concept of religion, the supernatural, or God and usually relies on science or logic instead. The main goal of these types of programs is to help people achieve a life without the need to self-medicate. The practice of this moral philosophy does not necessarily include that practicing a religion is a problem, but it emphasizes living a life without relying on religious practices to guide your moral compass.12-Step Programs and A.A.
Most alcohol treatment programs that are lower or free, will utilize the 12-step program as a guide for your treatment plan. The 12-step program was one of the first treatment models that showed significant results for alcohol abuse. The roots of the 12-step program can be traced back to the early ’30s and are still being used in conjunction with modern therapy models. How We Can Help
