Alcohol Abuse Rehab Centers in Ohio

Alcohol Abuse Rehab Centers in Ohio

Alcohol Abuse Rehab Centers in Ohio offer many therapy styles for the abuse of alcohol. Prolonged alcohol dependence and abuse can lead to serious health complications and social problems such as loss of income, family problems, and serious legal difficulties, as well as spousal and child abuse in the home if the person has a predisposition for violence. The physical ramifications of prolonged alcohol abuse can include depression, gastrointestinal disease, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and liver disease. If you are not sure if you have a drinking problem, take our free Alcohol Evaluation HERE.

Treatment programs for alcohol overuse disorder (AOD) offered may be conducted in a residential inpatient, or outpatient clinic setting, depending on your personal needs. When you are comparing various rehab centers for physical dependency to alcohol, it is important to take into consideration what each program has to offer you. Make sure that the program you choose will work not only with your personal belief system but also with the actual therapy models themselves to coincide with your individual needs. It is sometimes beneficial for the client to go to treatment further away from home. Getting away from temptations and friends who may still be using is often better for many people. Clients who go to rehab in another state also have a harder time leaving treatment early as well. Depending on the situation, our counselors may suggest looking for substance abuse programs that are a plane flight away. You can enter into a lower-cost, one-size-fits-all facility or you can go to a program that will be created based on your specific goals for recovery. Alcohol treatment specialists are available to answer any questions, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Treatment centers for alcoholism in Ohio will help you recover from alcohol abuse.

Alcohol Withdrawal and Detox Centers

When alcohol abuse develops into a physical need and physical dependency, there will be a need for detox to make sure that the patient is stable before entering into a comprehensive treatment program for acute alcohol dependency. If you have stopped drinking and are experiencing early signs of withdrawal, such as tremors, shaky hands, trouble sleeping, anxiety, fluctuating heart rate, or seizures, seek medical attention immediately. Trying to stop drinking on your own without a medically supervised detox can be very dangerous and even life-threatening. Seek help immediately if you are experiencing these symptoms. The sad truth about drinking alcohol is that once you have developed a physical dependency on alcohol, the need for an alcohol detox becomes medically mandatory. With medically supervised detox, the alcohol withdrawal process is carefully monitored, and medications are administered to make the process safe and as painless as possible. The alcohol detox process usually lasts for 3-7 days, depending on the severity of the alcohol dependency, while taking into account other conditions that are intertwined with the alcohol abuse issues.

*If you are experiencing tremors “the shakes”, delirium, or are having a hard time stopping alcohol on your own, do not attempt to stop drinking cold turkey. Doing this can have serious life-threatening consequences.

Outpatient Alcohol Treatment Programs in Ohio

Outpatient rehab centers offer treatment for alcohol abusers who cannot take time away from their busy schedules for treatment. Often, outpatient rehab for alcoholism is used as the first defense against a developing addiction. Outpatient treatment options can vary from going to 12-step meetings to partial hospitalization treatment programs. The alcohol patterns of use will be the determining factor as to what level of care of outpatient treatment will work best for your alcohol treatment plan. Most people who enter into outpatient treatment are at a level where they have not yet found themselves physically dependent but have developed a pattern that they feel needs to be changed before it gets out of control. They have more of an emotional addiction than a physical addiction to the alcohol they are abusing. Outpatient treatment programs for alcohol abuse in Ohio can vary in the delivery of their programs.

Inpatient Alcohol Treatment

Inpatient treatment for alcohol abuse and dependency is the most recommended and effective form of treatment for combating alcohol dependency. Program lengths can vary from 2 weeks to 1 year depending on the program chosen.  Inpatient treatment centers for alcohol abuse should be followed up by an aftercare program to ensure that the aftercare plan is followed, which allows for an easy transition back home.

Private Treatment Centers for Alcohol Abuse

Private rehabs have private rooms, that allow you to keep your cell phone, personal trainers on staff, individual meal plans (ie: vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian), and menus comparable to a 5-star hotel, saunas, and some even allow pets. These luxury-type programs cater to your every need while enrolled in their center. These programs offer a lot more amenities than the state-level treatment centers that cannot afford to implement due to budget constraints in the social programs. Private treatment programs for alcohol dependency will vary in length from 28 days to 3 months depending on the policy of the program. There are good programs, that cost little to nothing, in Ohio and there are higher-cost treatment centers for alcohol abuse that can cost upwards of $30,000 a month. A private treatment center will deliver a better program, due to being able to afford the staff and amenities needed for a well-rounded individual treatment program. Ultra private rehabs or luxury alcohol addiction programs, will have almost the same program options and individual treatment plans as the less expensive private alcohol rehab. The difference is that a luxury or Malibu treatment program will offer a lot more of the comforts of home.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment for Alcohol and Mental Health Issues

Often people who have underlying mental issues turn to alcohol to manage their symptoms. If they mix their medications with alcohol, this cocktail can have potentially dangerous and life-threatening consequences. Finding an effective program for those needing a dual diagnosis treatment program in Ohio can make the difference between success and failure. The most effective programs that specialize in dual diagnosis clients have many different levels of care, from intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and short-term programs (21-30 days), to intensive inpatient long-term (3-9 months or longer). Your physical dependency can determine the length of stay or level of care needed to facilitate lifelong sobriety.

Alcohol Treatment Centers That Take Insurance in Ohio

For those who have private health insurance, there are a few more options for treatment available in Ohio. Finding alcohol treatment programs that will work with your insurance provider can be a difficult task to undertake without the specific knowledge needed to ensure that the insurance provider allows for funds to be allocated toward the treatment. You can be denied based on the answers that you give to the insurance provider. It is always best to have a third party work on your behalf, ensuring that you get the maximum benefit from your insurance provider in Ohio.  Many treatment programs in Ohio offer therapy for those without insurance coverage for alcohol abuse. Where you live will usually determine what services you may qualify for in your county. Finding alcoholism treatment that offers free services can be difficult on your own, so please give us a call and we can get you in touch with the correct services in your county.

Low-Cost Treatment for Alcohol Dependency

For those with limited insurance coverage or no insurance, the best option for treatment should be to consider a low-cost treatment facility in your area. Most of these programs are highly effective options for the treatment of alcohol abuse and addiction. Some alcohol addiction programs offer sliding fee scales for those who qualify and will have access to scholarships to cover the cost of treatment for alcohol addiction in Ohio.

DWI, DUI, and Alcohol Deferment Programs in Ohio

For some people, deciding to enter into treatment for alcoholism, will be made for them by the county, state, or city court system. Ohio has a first-time offenders program for DUI and DWI offenders. This program is set up for those who require getting their alcohol abuse problems under control. The state has programs that can offer court-ordered treatment for alcohol addiction and DUI clients. For those who need an alcohol deferment program, please call us now for more information.

Secular Rehabs in Ohio

Secular rehab refers to an organization that is indifferent to the concept of religion, the supernatural, or God and usually relies on science or logic instead. The main goal of these types of programs is to help people achieve a life without the need to self-medicate. The practice of this moral philosophy does not necessarily include that practicing a religion is a problem, but it emphasizes living a life without relying on religious practices to guide your moral compass.

12-Step Programs and A.A.

Most alcohol treatment programs that are lower or free, will utilize the 12-step program as a guide for your treatment plan. The 12-step program was one of the first treatment models that showed significant results for alcohol abuse. The roots of the 12-step program can be traced back to the early ’30s and are still being used in conjunction with modern therapy models.

According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 86.3 percent of people ages 18 or older reported that they drank alcohol at some point in their lifetime; 70.0 percent reported that they drank in the past year; 55.3 percent reported that they drank in the past month. An estimated 88,0005 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making alcohol the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States. The first is tobacco, and the second is poor diet and physical inactivity. In 2014, alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 9,967 deaths (31 percent of overall driving fatalities). In 2021 there were 13,384 fatalities in motor vehicle traffic crashes in which at least one driver was alcohol-impaired. This represented 31 percent of all traffic fatalities in the United States for the year. Fatalities in alcohol-impaired-driving crashes increased by 14.2 percent (11,718 to 13,384 fatalities) from 2020 to 2021. One alcohol-impaired driving fatality occurred every 39 minutes in 2021, on average. The 21- to 24-year-old age group and the 25- to 34-year-old age group had the highest percentages (27% each) of alcohol-impaired drivers involved in fatal crashes compared to other age groups in 2021. In 2021 there were about 4 male alcohol-impaired drivers involved for every female alcohol-impaired driver involved.
