Heroin Addiction Treatment Programs in Utah

Heroin Addiction Treatment Programs in Utah

How to choose the best heroin drug rehab center in Utah

There are many different styles of rehab programs for heroin addiction available in Utah. It is important for you to find the right treatment center to handle your heroin detox and usage. We are here to help you find the best solution for yourself or a loved one’s heroin addiction. Knowing the different options and choosing the best heroin addiction treatment center can be the difference between success and failure in recovery.

When you make the choice to start a life without heroin it can be a life-changing decision, that will have many short-term consequences that need to be addressed first. This is the main reason that researching your treatment options is very important. Finding a program that will handle all the addiction issues that need to be addressed can be difficult if you’re not informed as to the different types of treatment available for heroin addiction.

How long should a heroin rehab take?

Treatment has to start with the individual. The addiction must be assessed first, in order to get the whole picture of the addiction and all of its subsequent parts. We must look at the length of the addiction, the types of drugs used, the frequency of usage and physical dependence. These answers can give our counselors a good understanding of what it should take to recover from your Heroin addiction. Some programs will offer outpatient treatment for addiction and other opioid addiction treatment centers will have short-term drug rehab options and long-term heroin addiction treatment rehabs.

If you are looking for heroin rehab for yourself or a loved one, Addiction No More can help. We can give you the answers that you are looking for. There are treatment programs available. Give us a call and we can get you a list of drug rehabs in your area. Our counselors are waiting to take your call and help you with an addiction to heroin 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Heroin Detox Centers in Utah

Treating heroin addiction in Utah will involve many steps to make the recovery process effective. For most people, there will be a need for a medical detox to alleviate the symptoms of Heroin withdrawal.
Heroin addiction can sometimes include other drugs so it is very important to make sure that you disclose all of the drugs you are currently using and have taken in the past 6 months. This will help the detox center for heroin addiction, better diagnose and prescribe the best medications to make your detox go smoothly and as pain-free as possible.

Do not try to detox on your own. Heroin withdrawal can last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the length of heroin use and the amount of heroin being abused on a daily basis.

Inpatient Heroin Rehabs

Detox should be followed by an extensive stay at a Heroin Inpatient treatment program. Private Inpatient drug rehabs offer the best results for long-lasting sobriety from a Heroin addiction.

Most of the people who have fought with heroin addiction have one thing in common: They recovered from their addiction at an inpatient heroin rehab center. Some people can find sobriety in an outpatient treatment program but due to the temptations and availability to go find heroin, this type of program is less effective in treating the addiction as a whole.  The typical stay for someone recovering from heroin addiction can vary from center to center and usually consists of 30-90 day programs.

Heroin addiction medications and uses

Sometimes a medical intervention can be used to help wean a person off of heroin at a slower rate, alleviating the withdrawal symptoms normally associated with Heroin Detox.

Buprenorphine: Being an opioid, Buprenorphine accesses the same receptors in the brain that heroin interacts with. This allows for a seemingly painless transition while managing cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Methadone: Over the last few decades, this drug has become a bit controversial due to the fact that the body can build up a tolerance quickly if taken too often and is under investigation for being potentially addictive. Methadone is considerably stronger than Buprenorphine but works in the same manner, offering alleviated symptoms from withdrawal.

Naltrexone: Designed to block opioid receptors, blocking the effects that would normally take place once Heroin or an opioid is entered into the system. Also used in treating alcoholism.

Suboxone: Specifically designed to work in combination with Buprenorphine and Naltrexone. This combination of drugs not only manages the addiction but also alleviates the temptation to use heroin due to the opioid-blocking drug Naltrexone.

*To locate a doctor that can prescribe medications for a painless withdrawal, please give us a call and we will help you find the closest addiction doctor to you in Utah.

The Heroin Epidemic Hits Utah

Utah is ranking number 4 in Heroin-related deaths and overdoses, and now the state has started to take a controversial approach to the problem. With the rate of heroin-related deaths reaching 1 a day, this surpasses gun violent deaths and even fatal accidental car-related deaths. Utah has implemented good Samaritan laws protecting not only the identity of the caller but allowing immunity from prosecution when helping another addict that has overdosed. This law and the implementation and training of Utah’s medical and emergency response teams to administer the life-saving drug Narcan is starting to make a difference in the heroin-related death toll.

This program has already had a significant impact on the overdose rates but officials worry that if treatment is not mandated this is only a bandage for the problem. To help with the overwhelming influx of people needing treatment for heroin addiction in the state of Utah, we have set up a dedicated 24-hour helpline and information service to help take the pressures off of the social service programs.  Programs that are specifically designed for Mormons have been developed throughout the state to help in the fight against drugs and specifically, Heroin addiction.

Heroin addiction is reaching an epidemic in the country, with Mexico producing 50% more heroin than they have in previous years. This ramp-up in heroin production is due, in part, to medical marijuana and legal marijuana in the United States cutting into their illegal drug trade. This has made the cartels shift their focus towards harder drugs to maintain their profitability. There has also been a significant improvement in Mexican heroin purity which has brought the drug more into the mainstream due to its new white powder form.

Do not wait to get someone help for their heroin addiction with the unknown purity of the heroin coming in from Mexico. What gets someone high today could kill someone tomorrow. The fluctuations in purity are the reason that the overdose rate is skyrocketing throughout the state. We have included a list below to help start the search for free heroin drug rehabs in New Hampshire. If you need more free drug rehab centers options for treatment in Utah we have a comprehensive list that we can forward to you.
